Welcome to the Fatum Operandi Site

The site is currently in a state of change, as I put up the content, develop new courses, and generally add features and such. There are, however, a number of ways to use the site for your personal development, and participate with others.

The first thing I'd recommend is to register. You won't get email spam or be pressured to do anything you don't want to do. Getting a login only opens up other features of the site, such as tracking new messages in forums you subscribe to. Certainly there is a lot to look at as a guest user if you like, but registration is free, simple, non-abusive, and comes with cookies.

Once you've logged in...

1. Site News. This is a forum right on the front page where I post major updates and announcements. There is a link that says "Subscribe me to this forum" which you can click to subscribe or unsubscribe. Updates from subscribed forums are sent via email.
2. Keep an eye on the Recent Activity box. This box is in the lower right of your screen (once you scroll down a bit) and contains a listing of things that have changed on or around the main page in the past few days. Each course tracks changes like this, but this box on the front page gives you a quick idea of new things to check out.
3. The General Chat. Yes, this is open at all times, and it does offer logging and review of chats if you missed something later. As we grow, there will be scheduled chats, but for now, it may look a bit empty.
4. The FO Wiki. As a logged-in user, you can contribute to the wiki. Please make additions relevent to the site. Clicking the blue ? button in the upper right gives some instructions on how to add and edit pages. It's a simplified version of wikis you may be used to.
5. Customizing your Profile. You can get to your profile by clicking on your name up top, right. You can upload a custom icon and keep a blog here. Quite a few options to check out.

And then... the Lounge.

The Lounge is a much more casual place than the course areas. While the courses have defined goals and topics, the Lounge is for getting to know others on the site and trying out some of the features. There are...

• Messages! Other users have the option to send you notes. The Lounge offers a shortcut to view them, upper right box.
• Blog Management! You can keep a blog here of your experiences with self-improvement and development, adding tags and allowing others to learn from your experiences. You can also view other user blogs from this box in the upper right.
• Links of Interest! Mostly humor and easy sites, this is the Lounge RSS feed of neat sites.
• Polls and Scheduled Events! Sometimes they happen. They'll be happening more as we grow. They can be found on the upper left boxes of the Lounge.
• The Social Forum! A discussion forum for banter, sharing and goofy stuff as the whim demands. Take a break here.

There will be more to come, especially as courses come online. This page will be updated accordingly, along with announcements and help within the courses.
